Womens’ Leadership
Network (WLN)

The Women Leadership Network (WLN) is an innovative initiative aimed at amplifying the voices and leadership of women in the Israeli-Palestinian peacebuilding process.
Rooted in the principles of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, WLN seeks to address the unique challenges faced by women in conflict zones, particularly within Israel and Palestine.
The program was recently launched in Jerusalem and focuses on strengthening the roles of women peacebuilders, equipping them with the tools and skills necessary to advocate for sustainable peace and gender-inclusive policies.
Objectives
WLN leverages the power of collaboration among women from diverse backgrounds—Palestinians from the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT), Palestinian citizens of Israel (PCI), and Jewish Israelis. Through hybrid meetings, capacity-building workshops, mentorship, and international advocacy, WLN fosters continuous dialogue and knowledge exchange. By integrating women’s perspectives into the broader peace process, WLN ensures that their contributions and insights are central to conflict resolution and political solutions in the region.

For the Future: Women in Peacebuilding
ALLMEP is releasing an educational short film on April 6, 2025 titled, “For the Future: Women in Peacebuilding”. The film highlights the critical role of women peacebuilders working on the ground in Israel and Palestine to secure lasting peace and a more just, equal, and secure future for all those living in the region. Produced in the fall of 2024, the film reflects on the year of violence and war, the disproportionate impact of violent conflict on women and girls.
2025 marks the 25th anniversary year of UN Security Resolution 1325. UNSCR 1325 specifically calls for the adoption of a gender perspective to consider the special needs of women and girls during conflict, repatriation and resettlement, rehabilitation, reintegration, and post-conflict reconstruction. It was also the first United Nations Security Council resolution to specifically mention the impact of conflict on women.
The resolution has since become an organizing framework for the women, peace, and security agenda, which focuses on advancing the components of Resolution 1325.
