Groundwork Returns for Its Third Season!

Groundwork Returns for Its Third Season!

ALLMEP and the New Israel Fund (NIF) are thrilled to announce that Groundwork is back for its third season.

Groundwork is a podcast about activists on the ground working to end the occupation, stop the endless bloodshed, and demand justice, peace, and equality for all in Israel and Palestine. Following the success of the last season of Groundwork, ALLMEP and partner New Israel Fund (NIF) are teaming up again to share stories of Israeli and Palestinian peacebuilders working for change in the region. Each episode will feature new voices of activists, highlighting the role of civil society on the ground.

This season is especially exciting as we welcome a new co-host to Groundwork, Noam Shuster. Noam is an Israeli comedian and activist and grew up in Neve Shalom/Wahat as-Salam, or “Oasis of Peace,” a joint Israeli and Palestinian community outside Jerusalem. In 2019, she went to Harvard Divinity School under the Religion, Conflict, and Peace Initiative, where she started her one-woman show, which launched her comedy career. She was named the “Best New Jewish Comedian of the Year” by JW3, also known as the Jewish Community Centre in London in 2018.

Alongside Noam will be co-host returnee, Sally Abed. Sally is a member of the national leadership at Standing Together: the largest Jewish-Arab grassroots movement in Israel. In recent years, Sally has become a prominent Palestinian voice in Israel, advocating progressive causes for social and climate justice, and highlighting their connection to the struggle for peace and an end to the occupation through building a new majority in Israeli society.

ALLMEP’s Executive Director, John Lyndon, said, “Groundwork coming back for its third season right now, at this unprecedented and devastating moment, is important. Each episode platforms Israeli and Palestinian activists and movements who are looking honestly at the horror of this moment. But who are also doing everything in their power to transform this broken reality into something more just and peaceful. And who have only redoubled those efforts since October 7th. We hope that you find their stories and work as meaningful as we do.”

Tune in on Spotify or Apple Podcasts for season three’s opening teaser “We’re back,” catch up on Groundwork’s previous two seasons, and follow Groundwork as we continue to feature new stories each episode.
