The case for multilateralism
Why did peace succeed in Northern Ireland but collapse between Israelis and Palestinians? Both were considered deep, “intractable” conflicts over territory and national identity. Both saw intensive diplomatic negotiations in the 1990s. They even had some of the same negotiators. Yet, the peace process in Northern Ireland had one thing the Middle East has never had, something which the U.K.’s chief negotiator called “the great unsung hero of the peace process:” The International Fund for Ireland (IFI).

ALLMEP Europe est la branche européenne d’ALLMEP. Basé en France, ALLMEP Europe a pour but de former la société française et européenne à la consolidation de la paix par la société civile en Israël et en Palestine et de plaider devant les élus des États membres européens et de l’UE pour un soutien accru de ce travail.
En outre, l’ALLMEP Europe s’attache à créer des échanges entre les différentes communautés en France et à promouvoir la tolérance mutuelle et les opinions modérées par le biais d’un dialogue apaisé et mesuré sur le Proche-Orient. Ce travail ambitionne de peut aider à créer plus de cohésion au sein de la société française et européenne, de lutter contre l’antisémitisme, l’islamophobie et toutes formes de le racisme, et cherche à créer plus de solidarité entre et au sein des communautés- clés en Europe.
